Dullatur Bowling Club was formed in 1997. We are a neutral gender Club and participate in competitions in Bowls Scotland, Dunbartonshire Bowling Association, and Glasgow District Hospital League.
Our internal games are a combination of ladies, gents and mixed competitions, and also include a number of one day fixtures held at weekends. We also have visitations to and from other clubs.
For such a young club, in terms of the number of years since we were founded, our successes have been quite considerable.
- We are proud to have had the Scottish Junior Ladies Champion, who was also runner up in the British Championship, and has represented Scotland several times.
- The gents S.B.A district champion.
- The gents D.B.A. singles champion.
- The gents K.& D. junior champion.
- The ladies S.W.B.A. under 25 champion.
- The gents inter district pairs winners.
- The ladies rinks winners.
We also have players selected to play in the Dunbartonshire county team.
At Dullatur Bowling Club we welcome new members from 10 years old upwards and it makes no difference whether you are new to bowling or have played for many years. We have a Bowls Scotland qualified coach within the club and the members will also be very willing to help anyone by passing on any knowledge or skills they have gained. There are no restrictions on play as you can have access to the green morning, afternoon and evening, both during the week and at weekends, and bad light will never stop play as the green has floodlights.
At our club we like to think that apart from the normal competitions, that we have a big emphasis on the fun and friendly social side of bowling.
The club have very good social events with regular cabaret shows and dances throughout the year. Apart from these usual social events the ladies have the B.B.C. (Bowling Ballet Club) and organise visits to the ballet during the winter.
