It all began in a waiting room at the then Dullatur Railway Station on December 13, 1895. A select band of Ladies and Gentlemen met to consider the possibility of forming a golf club in the district.

Even back then, the growing popularity of the game of golf was such that this meeting attracted the attention of the national press. On the following day an article referring to the meeting appeared in the Glasgow Herald.

This keen band could not possibly have envisaged the future of the Club they were founding and in the many phases through which it would pass. The first ball was struck just three months after the initial meeting of 13 December 1895.

Our original nine holes were laid out over 40 leased acres of land located four minutes walk south of Dullatur Railway Station. Our first fixture list appeared in 1897 followed in 1900 by the first clubhouse.

The original course was extended to 18 holes in 1926 by James Braid one of golf's greatest course designers, who played in the opening match over the then new Dullatur golf course.

Dullatur golf course was firmly put on the golfing map by Reid Jack.
Joining as a junior member, Reid went on to play in the Walker Cup in 1957 and 1959, winning the Scottish Amateur Championship in 1955 and the Amateur Championship (Formby) in 1957.

Now, over 100 years later, the club is housed in a newly built multi-functional Clubhouse overlooking the two 18 hole golf courses designed by Dave Thomas. Dullatur Golf Cub is home to some 900 golfers, 90 bowlers and 400 leisure and social members
